Vacuum Flourecent Displays - 16 x (7 x 5 dots) - HEGENER + GLASER AG - M16-SD-01Z-2

These displays were made by the company HEGENER + GLASER AG in Munich. The comany is better known for their chess computers that were successful towards the end of the 1980s.
The modules have a 14 pin connector, a light sensor for controling the intensity of the display and 16 fields made up of 5 x 7 dots. It hasn't been possible to find a data sheet to these parts, which seem to be very rare!!

Each display also has a display filer which can be positioned in front of the display to give optimal contrast.
