Can't ping on local machine
« on: June 24, 2008, 10:59:55 PM »
I've successfully compiled the uTasker v1.3 SP7 with MS Visual Studio 6.0 under Windows 2003 Enterprise. I can't ping the running simulator on the same machine, but i can do it from any remote machine in the network.
I haven't any firewall installed, nor any network anti-virus sw.
Does anybody know, where the problem lies?

WD-40 for things that don't move that should, and duct tape for things that do move but shouldn't.

Hi

I am having the same issue with VS 6.0 and VS 2008 on a new Vista PC. It sems as though reception is OK but transmissions don't get sent out on to the network.

For the time being I have resorted to developing the project on the new PC (mainly because it compiles much faster - not due to Vista since it is presently getting more in the way than helping) and developing web pages and testing from a different PC.

This point is also on my Vista problem list at the following link:

If I manage to find a solution I will post it there - possibly it is the same for Windows 2003 [?]

Mark

Hi

The remark about ARP prompted me to take a closer look and I managed to solve it on my new Vista PC.
See the following - the foot note includes the required setting change and the body contains an explanation for what is happening.

Does Windows 2003 have the same configuration possibility? Or are you using a wireless adapter with similar settings?
