M52233DEMO FULL-DUPLEX DON´T WORK
« on: February 12, 2009, 01:12:48 PM »
Hi Mark,

I don´t get full duplex in M52233DEMO.  What do you think can be the reason?

Thanks.

Hi

Full duplex operation can only be achieved between two directly connected devices (as far as I know).

If the board is connected directly to another board or to a PC (using cross-over cable) full duplex should be possible.
If you connect to anything else (switch / hub) then half-duplex is required.

I have to admit to not being an expert concerning the details here but I think that, if you set auto-negotiation and see what it achieved, it will inform what is possible - i.e. it will only set full-duplex if it can work.

Also check the auto-negotiation errata in the M5223X PHY (see note in the tutorial and some other threads here) to ensure that this is not the cause of any difficulties.

Regards

Mark

Hi Mark,

If I connect a PC to switch, the led full duplex is on. why if i connect a m52233demo to switch and the led full duplex is not on?.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Did you check the "Full Duplex" and "autonegotiate" bug that Mark said?

My board has this bug and I have to disable the autonegotiate.
