Bluetooth Communication
« on: April 13, 2010, 11:28:29 PM »
Hi All

I have been considering Bluetooth recently and was wondering how it may be best to connect a Bluetooth module.

Today I noticed that PC shops sell Bluetooth USB2.0 sticks for about $30. These are very small - hardly sticking out of the PC when inserted.

So one though that such modules may be handy (and possibly cheap compared to industrial modules) since any boards with a USB host adapter (there are increasingly mode with this capability) could be made Bluetooth capable by having a suitable USB host driver. Of course this wouldn't be a solution to other processors which don't have the USB host capability or must operate in device mode for other purposes. Therefore it wouldn't be a general solution, but could be interesting in certain situations.

So I was wondering whether anyone has better ideas? Maybe someone has done it before and can suggest the ideal solution for the more general case...

Regards

Mark
